Programs

Six ways we keep a city balanced.

Built in waves: education, support, and navigation first. Licensed clinical care as soon as New York State authorization is in place. Here is every program, broken all the way down.

Program 01

Therapy Access Program

Pending NYS authorization Individual Family Group Telehealth planned

The heart of the mission. Free and reduced-cost psychotherapy for eligible individuals and families, delivered by licensed professionals and funded by grants and donors, so cost stops deciding who gets care. This program launches only when Keeping Balanced Foundation holds the required New York State authorization, and not one day before.

What it includes

  • Individual, family, and group psychotherapy by licensed clinicians
  • Clinical supervision and quality standards from day one
  • Sliding-scale and fully grant-funded seats for eligible New Yorkers
  • Culturally responsive matching wherever possible

Who it serves

  • Uninsured and underinsured adults and families
  • People priced out of $150-plus private sessions
  • Clients referred by our partner organizations
  • Eligibility criteria set with counsel and published openly

What your support funds

  • Session costs for subsidized and free seats
  • Qualified clinicians and clinical supervision
  • Malpractice and program insurance
  • Secure records, telehealth, and compliance technology

  • Mindfulness and emotional-wellness practice
  • Healthy relationships, grief, and life transitions

What your support funds

  • Trained facilitators, fairly paid
  • Materials, translation, and accessibility
  • Space costs in neighborhoods without free rooms
Program 03

Support & Connection Groups

First wave Peer circles Psychoeducational Recurring

Structured spaces where people walking through the same season find each other, with skilled facilitation and zero judgment. Isolation makes everything heavier. Connection is the counterweight.

What it includes

  • Psychoeducational groups on real-life topics: anxiety, grief, caregiving, burnout
  • Peer and community support circles with trained facilitators
  • Consistent meeting rhythms so trust can actually build

Who it serves

  • People carrying a hard season alone
  • Caregivers, new parents, the recently bereaved
  • Those waiting for therapy who need support now

What your support funds

  • Facilitator training and stipends
  • Meeting space and refreshments
  • Outreach so the people who need a circle find one
Program 04

Youth & Family Wellness

In development Prevention Parenting Schools

Healthy habits start early. We work upstream, before crisis, so fewer families ever need the emergency exits. Designed with schools and community partners, not just for them.

What it includes

  • Prevention and early-intervention programming for young people
  • Parenting support and family communication skills
  • School and community partnerships with wraparound referrals

Who it serves

  • Children, teens, and the adults raising them
  • Schools that see the need daily and lack the resources
  • Families navigating stress before it becomes crisis

What your support funds

  • Age-appropriate curriculum development
  • Youth-experienced facilitators
  • Family program materials in multiple languages

Education & Outreach

First wave Free materials Events Built to travel
